Our aims as a church are to:
Love God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit first and to love others
Matthew 22 v 37- 39 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’
Share that Christ is God, Saviour and our perfect role model
Matthew 28 v 19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Be a place of refuge providing healing, forgiveness and freedom for all
Psalm 91 v 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Luke 4 v 18, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,”
Value every individual and inspire every person to participate fully in the life of the church
Hebrews 10 v23-25, Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Know who we are in Christ, through studying the Bible and applying it to daily Christian living
2 Timothy 3 v 15-17, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
